well guy at work has a 76 f250 camper special with a 390 and a c6. driving along and come up to a stop light and the shifter on the column moved. checked the cab mounts,linkage,and the column under the hood and couldn't find anything out of place or broken/rusted. any ideas?

My 79 F150 did this before to. It use to do it when brakeing, when acclerating, it got worse with a load.

Dont ask me why, I think it has something to do with the linkage in the column losing its "spring" over time.

ok thought i was going nuts for a while.
