$700 B2. What do you think?


The "Head Gasket" part is a little iffy if you ask me. It may not be head gaskets but more like cracked heads, which is not funny or cheap at all. I mean if your buying it to drop a bit a dough into it by all means have at it but don't expect it to be a minimal cost project. Things never work out that way but it would be nice if they did haha.
 
you could get one of those cool flamed button up shirts to match the seat covers! jk!
 
From the looks of the cruddy pictures it looks like the tires might be worth $700 on their own.

Only an idiot would ask for their bottom dollar from the start, he could probably be haggled much lower, coolant in the oil isn't strong arguing point on his part.

Thats what I'm thinking.

My '96 Ranger just dosn't do it for me and I want something different and cheaper. Ive always wanted a 4x4 truck so why not? I just gotta price out what it would cost worst case to fix it if it has a cracked head. Idk I think I'm gonna call the guy tommarow and take a look this weekend, and of course If I get some time I'll need to call up some parts stores tommarow too.


Lol Ive always hated on and bashed the 2.9 and now im thinking about buying one :eek:
 
It's an '89.

Don't fix the head. Swap in a 4.0. The '89 and '90 are the easy years for the swap.

A BII with a 4.0 is an awesome lil' truck.

Get it for $500, get the 4.0 stuff on here for $500 or less and you have a killer 4x4.

Of course, then you'll have to start looking for a D35 to replace the D28, and so on...:headbang:
 
Yea idk. The 2.9 just dosn't excite me. To bad they didnt put the 3.0 in those truck, but then agian if they did it probably would be running fine and selling for more. Im thinking about just buying it, fixing it then selling it for more.

And I didnt get a chance to call him today, I woke up 2 hrs late for work :eek:

carefull what u say......lots of people on here will defend the 2.9 with there lives, there the toughest little engine ive ever seen aslong as there cared for, and its actually a truck engine unlike the 3.0

i know personally if i could have the 2.9 instead of the 3.0 id take it 9/10

If they put a 5.0 in them they probably wouldn't be selling any better than they are now... some dealerships are not even taking SUV's or pickups in on trade anymore.

I would rather have one with a 2.9 anyway, makes putting in a 4.0 much easier.:D

I'm a 3.0 guy, its even in my Screen name :D.

I dont think I'm gonna get it anyways, after fixing the head, and what ever eles it might need I dont think I could make any money out of the deal.

I think Im gonna look around for a B2 Thats headed for scrap, pull the body and my best freind has the drive train out of his old 78 F150 with a 300 that he said I could have. swap that set up in and pretty much drive that around like a big go kart.

That would be pretty cool.
