Time to freshen my '88's rear diff. Didn't pull both rear wheels recently while working in the pasture. Clutches aren't totally shot; both rear wheels turn same way when jacked up, can't turn one wheel by hand with the other stationary. Local Ford dealer recently changed hands & new parts guy says clutches "no longer available" for a 7.5" rear. Also drew a blank at Rock Auto website (out of stock). Not even listed at LMC Truck. What's a poor country boy to do?

Not too sure, but things are probably going to get worse before they get better.
Maybe try a wrecking yard and grab some clutches and plates from another truck and then add a couple to your pack. I've never done it tho....

Personally, I'd use this inconvenience to justify upgrading to a selectable locker lol.

I suspect it is temporary. There are a lot of 7.5s out there...parts will be back eventually, hard saying when though. Parts availability is crazy right now, I have been waiting on a replacement for a broken Gearwrench ratchet since October last year and I "might" get one in April

Wal Mart says they have 2 sets left. Yukon , $199.

I was going to recommend checking Yukon, Randy's( or Randall's) ring & pinion, or maybe a fox body Mustang place like CJ Pony Parts or NPD.

Thanks guys.
Had no idea you could buy LSD parts from Wal Mart. Not going the locker route yet, don't want to mess with ring & pinion. Would go 8.8 if I find a '90-'92 4.0 OHV 4X4. Shran's probably right about 'supply chain' issues. Gonna check out some of the Mustang suppliers.........

I just knew there were too many Ford vehicles with 7.5 rears for parts to be unavailable. Went to a second Ford dealer & happened to get an old-time parts man who, without blinking an eye, found the Traction Loc kit I needed. Didn't have it in stock but took only four days to get it. Cost $160 out the door. Photo of kit attached in case anyone needs the part number.
