Ok. I know someone has had to have done it. How on earth do you get the emergency brake cable out of the drum on the 7.5 axle? It's got the 9 inch drum and i'm swapping up to an 8.8 with 10 inch drum. Any help hopefully as soon as someone can give it would be appreciated it. I got this far and i'm stuck.

You squeeze all the little fingers together on the end of the cable inside the drum where it goes through the backing plate.

Thanks. That's what i thought. My dad tryed that and he snapped off 2 of the fingers. I figure i can fix it easy with some kind of grommet. Atleast i know for sure that's the correct way to do it now. Thanks.

If you can get a set of hose grip pliers

They work the best as you can squeeze all the fingers in and wiggle out the cable.

I usually use the smallest hose clamp I can find... Put it around what you're needing to remove, tighten it, then push it out.

Just like a piston ring compressor.
