My truck is a 4wd but I currently have a 2wd AOD in it and its setup just right so I dont want to change it. I plan on running a divorced transfer case sometime but for now while i only have 2wd what would some of you guys think about locking my rear axle for more spin on the rear? Basically weld it since I dont have the front to help pull I figure having both rears pushing would help

Weld it if you just wheel it. If it's driven on the street don't weld it.

It gets driven on the street but nothing over a few miles here and there. not often.

Throw a mini-spool in it, lunchbox locker etc. if its driven on the street please dont weld the diff.

weld 7.5

Weld it up and diove it like you like you stole til it breaks. Then you've got an excuse to put an exploder 8.8 in.

Heck if I weld it and it breaks then I'll throw my 9" in out of my F150

A mini spool and welding it do the same thing  And mini spools are WEAK, on top of that they aren't made for the 7.5... Short of a Detroit, welding it properly makes it as strong as possible and is probably fine for minimal street use.

Yeah i know that, but if you dont want to weld the carrier u could just throw a mini spool or whatever in there.

I really dont care what happens to it. If it breaks then the junkyards have dime a dozen rangers down here. Any special tips or tricks to welding the 7.5? Being its small I figure it might be harder
