7.5 backlash spec??

I have a 95 ranger (that I love ) , recently did axle seals and when cover was off noted the ring and pinion seemed to have more backlash then normal . Did not have dial indicator at home so did not physically measure , any way would like the spec so when I get my tool here i can measure and correct if necessary . Thanks Jim
