Just picked up a set of Kicker DS6930's for 25 bucks NIB, couldn't pass it up, But I forgot that my ranger is 6x8 all around, Is there any way I could put these bad boys in my ranger?

ive seen people put em in the extended cabs....looks like crap tho...i would just resale for more than you paid

theres a guy on here....ranger haundras i think... made a little adapter plate out of mdf and carpeted it and put Sony 6x9's in it, it didn't look half bad in my opinion. hes got an ex cab thou

Yeahhh, I got a single cab, I'd expect the speakers are in the same area though right? Eh, Probably not, Anyways, Might just go ahead and do what the first poster said lol.

i fit a pair of 6x9's in my brothers single cab a few years a go with like a few wood screws lol, i got his truck the other day and they are still in there, the speakers on the single cab are in the far corners of the cab behind the seats, frankly, that location sucks for speakers, you would be best to make a over head box that reaches across the cab on the roof. that would crank out the tunes for sure.

I'm not an audiophile, but I do like decent sound. And in vehicles speakers without correct enclosures sound like ass. A pair of studio monitors with 3" woofers sound better in a pickup cab then a pair of 6x9s screwed in any-old-where. An overhead console would definately lack the volume to operate any speaker at all in. I put 6x9s in my bus and had someone with some software give me an idea of the enclosure size and diameter and depth of the port. They sound so good that I decided I didn't need a subwoofer. The volume works out to something like 1.25cubic feet each. Find a place for that back there, or forget about it. That's my rec.

you can put 6x9 in your ranger. when you remove the ABS placti parts so you can see the OEM sheet metal hole. and mod to fit. All 6x9 speakers are a lil different. and how there Baskets are made. But can make the hole bigger and moutn the new speaker, if you have the space behind the finish panel, you can make a MDF spacer too. neither were overly hard just a lil thinking and seeing how it all fits together.

yeah, i just went outside and took one of my kenwoods out and hooked up my neg and posi to the kicker. it sounds a lil nicer, not a huge improvemnt (you'd think so with the huge ass magnet) and I just took where the sheetmetal clips were. screwed the top 2 screws in and it's just sitting there, don't feel like putting the kenwoods back in, but i'm going to try to see if I can't make the other 2 screws on the kickers fit lol, But no way I can get the panel face plate w/e stock ontop of these suckers lol.

he has got a good point about the volume, the thought didnt even cross my mind haha.

when i put 6x9's in the 5x7/6x8 hole in the back of my bros truck, they sounded great with the seat slanted and moved forward, but so muffled when i set the seats back.....

best bet would probably be to add components upfront and a shallow mount sub in back. if your really concerned with it.

i forgot about this speaker issue till this thread, makes me glad ive got an ex cab.

Haha, Okay, So I mounted the 6x9's on the top left side on the sheet metal, and the bottom right side on the right, both sides. They don't necessarily look like shit to me, maybe to someone else though maybe. My biggest problem now is the fact that my magnet is like RIGHT against the metal in the back, and idk the problems it'd cause, But I've heard it's a nogo. Anyone to shed some light on that?

it depends on how, it touching and how much. is it very close or touching? and is it touching the whole back side of the mag or is the corner rubbing a lil.

i got 6x9 in my truck i just took a angle grinder and cut it little by little till it fit snug but still was able to screw them in

No Ranger Sport Honduras owns a regular cab.

The magnet is definitely hugging the metal on the cab.
