Hey guys,
I just put a deck in my truck last weekend for the firts time. I was surprised how easy it was to install it. Nothing special and I know I will probably catch some crap for it, but it is a Dual CD770. Not too bad actually. Especially for the 100 bucks it was at Wally World. Now, when I bought the truck it had no speakers and the guy had just dropped the factory radio back in the dash without hooking anything back up. I bought a pair of Pioneer TS-A6872R and put them in the stock holes in the back. Right now I am thinking I will probably just buy another pair of them for the front, but thought I would get your opinions on it first. Looking to spend as little as possible but could go up to like 80 bucks or so.

Dual's equipment has come way up in the last year or two. I wouldn't knock them at this point, especially after the issues I've seen with Pioneer's 'Premier' radios lately.

Cool! That is really good to hear actually! I liked the price and the specs on the box seemed pretty good to, but knew I was taking a bit of a gamble when I bought it since I had read all kinds of stuff on here as well as a few other places about them that were less than comforting. It seems like the reviews I read were either terrible or really good so I was having a hard time figuring out what was the truth ya know? After installing it and hooking it up to the speakers I bought though, I am definitely satisfied! Just looking to get a set of 6x8s for the front for now, but have been thinking about putting a sub and amp in the back seat a little bit down the road. I don't listen to rap or hip hop or anything like that really, but I do enjoy the full sound of a sub. I had a 12" 200watt MTX in my 96 Cherokee before I sold it and it filled out my music nicely no matter what type of music I was listening to.

Hey if Dual was so bad I don't think Crutchfield would carry their equipment.
Another pair of those Pioneer 3-way speakers you have and you should be on your way to a sweet sounding system!

ive got dual 2 or 3 ways up front. they aint the right size for the mouting hole but they still sound good.

Well, I bought another set of the same Pioneer 6x8s over the weekend and got them in. Went to Best Buy to check them out and man, they were 81 bucks there compared to 56 at Wal-Mart. Yikes! But, I got to talking to the guy that was working there car audio section and told him I was going to go with the same Pioneers but told him I knew I could get them somewhere else quite a bit cheaper. He price matched them for me and got them for me for the same 56 bucks and I got to use my 15 bucks worth of gift cards. Woohoo! Now I need some bass though. Haha! I can't decide now though if I want to go with a separate amp and sub, or if something like an Infinity Basslink or another powered sub would be good enough for me. Checking craigslist to see what I can find.
