ok so im thinking of doing the t-rex 6x6 conversion to my dodge. heres my idea. using a nv241 transfer case hard mounted to the first rear end and run a driveshaft from that to the second rear end. then have so sort of airbag to the back diff to lift it up when its not in use reduce friction for improved street driving and fuel economy. what do you guys think? any other suggestions?

Gear Vendors make a what they call a "gear over" for that very same thing. you used to be able to get one from USA 6x6 but they went out of business.

gear vendors doesnt make them, just called. think im going to custom make a box or just use the transfer case.

if i wanted 44in tires or bigger i would just use rockwells since the pinion shafts on top but im only running 35's.

Didn't someone post up some info and pics on a custom 9" ring and pinion set that went right through the housing and has splines that came out the back that you could put another drive shaft yoke on?

How about a divorced NP205 between the rear drivers with a front D60 for the front driver, the NP205 clocked so the driveshaft will go over the forward axle?

What's the suspension going to be like? The D60 front as a rear axle will give you lockouts so you can unlock it isntead of picking it up. Then the fact that you don't have a center diff won't matter.

the transfer case cocked strait up and down is what i had in mind. i think im going to do 4link on both axles. just trying to figure out what i should use to lift the rear axle up. maybe keep it simple and use a small 1000lb winch to lift it up.
