So I found a '68 Frame w/drivetrain for $250 about 5 min from me and I was wondering if anything on this would be good to swap into either my stock '89 BII or my '97 Ranger. What axles and Tcase & Axles would it have? I also am not sure of the motor but it has a auto tranny I am guessing a C4. Also is it possible to swap a BII body onto its frame? I am giddy as hell I think its a steal of a deal and could be sold for much more parted out to collectors if not used for my stuff. thanks guys

Well I went and looked at the Bronco or the frame and drivetrain at least and its got a V8 the guys thinks that it was a swapped in 302 as a factory engine from that year would be a 289 either of which are good in my eyes then its got a C4 dana 20 case, 9" rear and the weak ford dana 30 front, thats the only piece i'm not really excited about but a 44 would be easier to find so I am gonna try and pick it up today. He also has two International pickups, a scout, '88 ranger and he had a 4 spd trans with the smallest T-case I have ever seen he said it was one that was offered in '74-'75 and was strictly a 4x4-2x4 case, what would that be and is it desireable

yes the 302 is non factory the 302 is a replacement, the original was a inlne 6 250 i think or a 289 V8 auto or manuals the 302 should have a c4 auto but there is a very rare c6 auto but i've never seen one in a married trans case setup... the 30 front is reminisent of the inline 6 bodys and in that year should be a drum brake model.... the 44 dana would be a definate upgrade if you can find a good one for a far price.... the fullsize 44s are wider so you'll need an early bronco 44 or do some fab work.... that transfer case you found is a dana 21 only availible 2 year s and on sticks only, they usd the low range in the stick for low range... the dana 20 will work for mild wheeling if you overhaul it the dana 300 would be better if you can get one... a bronco ii body isn't an exact fit but you could make it work with some minor work the wheel bases are close and the 302 will fit under the hood as we all know...:icon_welder::icon_welder:good luck either way:icon_thumby:

Got one question how hard do you guys think it is gonna be to adapt the steering column from ranger/BII steering to the outboard mounted steering gear on the Bronco?
