67 ford 3/4 ton 4x4 resto mod

well i'm reading the factory literature on it now and scouring pics, nowhere does it show split ring rims. I did find out this though; my parking lever was an upgrade, along with a bigger battery, the 300 was an upgrade, the 16.5 rims were an upgrade, mine was a custom cab, not a standard, the 4 spd was an upgrade, the aux fuel tank was a factory option it's an under cab 24 gallon, the alt was upgraded, had an "extra cooling radiator", hehe and tubeless tires were an option :icon_thumby:

screw all this, only thing left made is tube tires. By the way if you need to know sizing on bias ply you take the width, times by .82, times that by 2 then add rim size to it for your diameter... I'm buying a set-o- wagon wheels and going with either 235-85-16 or 265-75-16 both are close to what woulda came stock in diameter and width.... stupis bias ply :bawling:

those are radial sized LT235-85-R16 or LT265-75-R16 either will be same diameter of stock tire size.

235/85'S are a lot skinnier than 265/75's. They are stereotypically more of a heavy truck tire size, IMO they look more factoryish on older 3/4 and one ton trucks.

yes, while the 235's are more like what used to come on it. Some sales brochures showed the 4x4 with wider looking mud tires, and the 265's are actuall cheaper by a bit...go figure.

I did find out that 16.5 was the only size on a 3/4 ton that didn't have split rings....the 16's and the 17.5's were splits..... anyone know a good place to find wheels for a stock 80's truck or anything?

ok I am going to use 80's rims which are 6 inches wide so 235 85 16's it is, now anyone got a vote I want to two tone it the factory green is fugly. I know I want to use a lighter blue, with either a white or a darker blue, what color interior to match. No wrong answers here guys just throw out some suggestions.

i vote for fugly green 2 tone. you want to restore it rigional right?

Well, I cannot return it to full original, cause of wheels and tires. Second I hate the green, bleh it's ugly. As hard of a time as I am having finding an oil bath air cleaner may not even have an original air cleaner, might have to settle for one from the 70's.
