67 ford 3/4 ton 4x4 resto mod

I would do a really watered down restomod. Improve small things but don't get carried away.

The 16.5's would go split or not, a huge market of tires opens up if you switch to 16's. We just switched the 1970 Dodge pickup my grandfather bought new from spit rim 16.5's to solid 16's off of a 1996 F-250 I found on creigslist for $50/set. They are wider than original but the stock hubcaps fit, and I bet if you didn't look at the backside and see the oval you wouldn't know they were not original, my grandfather didn't notice the difference. I don't remember what size it had on there, but the old 235/85-16's off of our one ton are really close to the same size. Late 80's trucks had narrower rims if that is an issue, the truck needed tires badly and we wanted to upgrade rims at the same time so I pounced on the first set that turned up.

There are still some 16.5's out there but with the metric measurement. I don't remember the size but we still have them on our '80 3/4 ton Chevy.

thanks jimmyK have been going there and to ford trucks but still no one has been able to answer a few questions. I have restored a mustang and you can find out anything for them and I mean anything, but it seems trucks are a lot harder...

trucks are harder becauser they arent "sporty" enough to some people. most people just junk em cause theyre heavy before trying to sell em

yeah I know. In one way this really sucks for info, but on the other hand it's fun. Trying to scribble notes and websites and part numbers etc. makes me feel like a sick and twisted CSI.

Well I have found out the part numbers are the same for a 240/ 300 air cleaner..... I may have found a set of stock wheels too. That would be great to get the air cleaner and a set of stock wheels and a set of 8x16.5 military tires...
