63" Chevy's into B2... Need some advice!

I recently replaced all the body mounts with new poly stuff. Shouldnt need to fool with anything for a while. As for the stretch, looks like I will start fooling with a 3" stretch. I moved it back 6" and the D60 runs right into the fuel tank.

ah. maybe a fuel cell? just a thought...

as for the mounting, i like it. just make sure that you account for shackle angle, so it doesn't flip on you by accident

Are you doing an engine swap too? Why the D60? seems a bit overkill for a V6.

D60 Overkill? Ask the two 8.8's that have been broken behind the V6 and doubler.... D60 Should be a nice upgrade.

No fuel cell in the rig, has to stay underneath. We do way to much camping and exploring to lose any cargo room. The 3" stretch should be just the ticket then.

Are you saying I should rethink my 8.8 swap? I do have a 9inch laying around but it needs a lot more work than the 8.8 I have. What did you break?

My first 8.8, I twisted an axle tube in the pumpkin. That pointed the pinion up and broke a driveshaft and housing.

My second 8.8, I trussed the housing to prevent that from happening and even welded the tubes in a few spots. This time, I broke the passenger side axle shaft right at the splines of the differential. I was unable to get the broken piece out and had to use the hi-lift jack trick to get the rig off the trail. By the time I got it home, there are just pieces of the locker coming out. I had to scap that axle. Thus why I am now installing a Dynatrac ProRock 60 in the rear.

The 9" could be build pretty stout with 35 spline alloys and all the goodies. I am of the opinion of fixing up an 8.8 is like polishing a turd. Im sure people will disagree with me, but after my experience, I will never run or recommend one again.

Also, one these tires are shot, I am stepping up to 37's or 38's!

38x14.50 MTR's! The 37's seemed to skinny to me..... 12.50 wide is fine for 33's, but width needs to go up proportionally by height for it to look right to me?

yeah I will be running 37s too so maybe I should just go straight for the 9 inch. At least before I do anything to extreme. Let me know how the new tires fit. I still havent decided what BS I will need to clear my radius arms.

I was thinking 38x13.50 or 14.50. Probably Swampers or Pitbulls.

Looks good man. I had thought about going 63s at one point, but decided it was too much work on a B2. Glad to see you pulling it off so well.

And my 35s are 13.50, I'd go 14.50 on anything bigger.

Mocked it up in the original front mounting spot, gotta figure out how to do the rear shackles and need to see if I can scoot the tank back just a bit.

Oh yeah, that's sexy! Looks like it will work good.

Looks like I will notch the bumper and mount the shackles on the inside. I was going to put them off of the back and make them kinda U shaped, but was woried about them folding over once fully flexed.

Now to move the tank and skid back a bit and get to working on the bumper shackles.

Body work.... now thats the scary part!

Keep up the great work, can't wait until it is done :icon_thumby: :icon_welder:

Your B2 was badass before, now its gonna be uber bad to the bone!

Legoms,
Thanks for the compliments! :icon_thumby:
