I'm trying to put a 6 inch skyjacker Lift kit on my 96 ranger 4x4. I was told at four wheel parts that working they wouldnt even attempt it because installing a lift on a ford ranger was like opening pandoras box as he said. i was told that the driving ability is almost non existent with the lift. I've always wanted a 6 inch lift with the 3 inch body lift thats already installed.:dunno:

They just don't want to take the time to understand the ttb. Its only in these trucks and there all about the sas.

Youll be fine, plenty of people have them....including me. When you buy the lift buy the FA600 drop pitman arm. Or if you have a few hundred extra buy the super runner steering setup.

And once I get it what size tires would be the best for me to run I will have 9 inches of lift total.

Id say 35s would look great. But you would need to regear to 4.88 for that. I see that combo with 33s often.

Drive shafts will be fine. Just upgrade u joints and what not

Use a 4" pitman arm (fa400?, or one from roughcountry or duff). And a super runner steering. It may take an hour of calls to track one down, but it's worth the time and the $500 or so.

And if it doesn't come with 320-350ppi coils (maybe even around 3-320ppi) you won't get the desired flex.

Do it right and don't waste your time/money and you'll be happy.

Not sure what's the ops intentions are but I feel this may be a mall Crawler. Even then so thebsteering upgrades would still benefit you greatly. Although not required it does help. If you want flex you'll need softer coils.
