I have two MTX 6's that I bought for 10 bux for the pair, however Im thinkin of taking them out of the boxes and mounting them in the doors. My door speakers are shot anyways. I dont really have any questions, I know it wont sound great pushing full ranger through them with head unit pre-amp power, but I just want your opinions. I have a pair of 4 way xplod 6x9's in the rear, but only one is working due to a prob in the head unit, but it should still be enough to give me quality for mids and highs. I jst wanna take some of the stress off them for the lows. Im only referring to 3 ranges cuz i dont have a proper EQ yet.

So like I said Opinions? what are they?

Why are you doing this? If money is tight I would understand. Otherwise, having "subs" (didn't know there was such thing as a 6" sub, but I do know there is no real substitute for physical size) in front of your full range speakers isn't likely to sound very good.

Since you just bought them, I'm assuming you're going to want to use them one way or another, so I won't say pitch 'em. I'd suggest getting a good 6" 2 or 3-way for the doors and making a "Bazooka" type tube for the subs.

In front of my ful range speaker? LOL NO the full ranges in the door are shot so they are coming out. I figured I could throw the 6 in subs in there cuz they are the right fit. (yes using what I have) I have the brand new sony 6x9 4 ways in the rear. So I will have a set fo full range and a set of lows. I dont need perfect sound, Just trying to get a lil better than what I got.

what he ment is if you have your low range in front of your components/full range speakers you wont get good soundquality, everyone i know thats big into car audio says to get the best set of front stage speakers possible, as thats where you are sitting and put your subs in theback of course, as for the back speakers they said just some decent speakers are ok. if you put the subs up front i think it will sound crappy, not trying to talk down on ya or nothing, sorry if this sounds confusing running on a few hours of sleep

oH I got what yall are saying, I already have the 6x9 4 ways though and they only fit in the rear. I have the subs in little boxes with tweeters. But I was thinkin to eliminate the boxes taking up space just put hte 6's in th doors til I get something else. Keep in mind Im flat broke and working with what I have. There is all of 3 ft between the two sets of speakers front to rear so its pretty much negligable where sound quality is concerned. It may be an extra cab but its still a ranger.
