im going to be installing a six inch lift with extended radius arms on my ranger tommorrow, will i need to do anything to my driveshaft to compensate for the lift, or does it not matter on a single cab shortbed?

Your rear shaft should be ok but check it out once on. Where you possibly could have problems is in hard off-road use when the rear suspension might droop or flex so check your slip joint and get an idea how much is left in there. If possible jack the rear up and set the frame on stands and let the suspension hang and see where your at for piece of mind at least.

Im at about 8-9" of suspension lift on my reg cab short bed and the rear driveshaft has been ok so far. It should probly bee shortened about 2" though. But I also moved the rear axle back 1.5". You should be fine.
