is it possible to just swap coils? or do i need diff brackets too?

many people have done that. tho your steering will be a bit further outa wack unless you get a new drop pitman arm, or change steering setup's

Yes you can do it. Just go with Skyjacker coils 6", other brands 6" are extremely stiff. These will net you around 4.5" according to people here and info from the tech library. You'll need an alignment afterwards, so count that into your costs (I'd go to Firestone and get their "premium'' lifetime alignment for ~$140 and call it a day).

And yeah you'll absolutely need at least a standard drop pitman or if you have the money a Superlift Superrunner setup (~$400). Just keep an eye on how your tie rod angles are after you put the coils in, that will determine what you need to do next with your steering components.
