well, recently i was given the task of repairing the engine in a water transfer pump, somehow water got in the crankcase and the insides looked like a junkyard 2.9L. so i tore the engine down, replaced gaskets, cleaned out the milkshake and put it all together again, first time to start, it fires up, runs for 2 secs and dies... wont start back up untill 1 min later and does the same thing. now the carb was good when i took it apart and it has fresh fuel.. i think the govener got goofed up on it. will an improperly set govener cause an engine to fire up and then stop once reved up? also theres no load on the crankshaft, but it has a flywheel and a small impeler. anyone have any ideas?
