6.0 Powerstroke

If I was to have a diesel truck, the Cummins engine would be my preferred engine. Outside of the 7.3, it is the only engine I’ve heard with less issues.

I agree with the above. While an eight foot bed would be nice, I don’t have a need for a full size truck. The six foot rarely finds me wanting and then I have a trailer or the roof rack for the 2011.

The 2019 replaced a compact SUV. So, bed length wasn’t a consideration. I needed four doors over anything else. The expanded cargo space was a win over what the SUV offered. Again, there is the roof racks or the trailer for anything the bed can’t handle.

And I’ve posted some pictures of me hauling stuff with the 2011 a couple of times. It doesn’t get babied. I bought it to work and I run it through the ringer.

Is there a point to this argument? :dunno:

You wanted a point?

Uh, no. The area from the front bumper to the cowl is included in the eight feet that makes up the cab. It won't fit. I promise.

My ‘85 is 95.5” from the grille to the back of the cab. Just under 8’.

Frame mounted bumper doesn’t count any more than an open tailgate which is actually attached to the bed.

It’s 87” from the front bulkhead to the tail lights so there wouldn’t be much hanging out the back. Stripping the front clip (grille, hood, fenders etc) off the inner fenders and core support would lose a tad more than 4”.

it’s a toy and it’s a two seater, fun but not very practical. For an example going to the roundup this year I have to have a second vehicle tag along because I have more people than seats.

Thanks. An intact cab would hang out 12 inches or so. No, that's not much. Actually, the back end of the cab would be supported by the tailgate. BUT, it's too wide (as somebody else pointed out). Cab sheet metal and box sheet metal are the same width.

Actually without doors and fenders it might fit between the bedsides...

Why would you count the front clip as part of the cab?

Im talking firewall to back of cab...rocker to rocker.

Then buy an SUV and a trailer.

Which in addition to costing more would really do nothing better than a ‘150 with an open bed.

Still need a trailer for heavy lifting anyway but it is nice to load up brush or barbed wire on a whim or pickup anything at a lumberyard without hassling with a trailer an the way home from work.

Because it is a welded assembly, you wanna cut the roof off too?

How about you have your opinion, others have their opinion... and you stop telling people what they should or shouldn’t do. You bitch and whine about the government “can’t tell me what to do”, “the liberals are trying to push their ways on us”... What are you doing???
Times are changing... cars/truck are expensive and people need a vehicle that can do it all. A 4 door truck is WAY more versatile to a family then a regular cab.
Who gives a shit how long the bed is, as long as it does the job the OWNER needs it to do! I stress the OWNER because you can’t seem to comprehend that it’s not your decision as to what someone else’s vehicle should be. We’ve had this argument before when you told me what I should do with MY ‘79.
FACT of the matter is my crew cab short bed f150 was more capable of doing “truck things” than any Ranger I’ve ever owned. It could carry more weight, it could tow more, I could put more dirt or mulch in the bed, it could carry 9 cubic feet more cargo than a Ranger 7’ bed, my quad fit in the bed, all while being able to carry 6 people.
