6.0 Powerstroke

Given that a regular cab truck with a long (7 foot bed) is 15 feet, yes it is. You've got 8 of those 15 feet left. OK, the back bumper takes a couple of inches off, and the gap between the cab and bed is an inch or so. The only way the bed could be longer than the cab is if 7 feet is the internal dimensions, and if the exterior dimensions add more than 6 inches to the length of the bed.
Youre forgetting the length from the front bumper to cowl.

Im 100% sure i could put a 1st gen cab in a 1st gen longbox.

I think the only time a cab will fit in a stock bed of any size over 5 feet off of any truck that it came off of is if the cab is a single cab and it is placed in the bed sideways. otherwise, the cab will just rest on top of the bedrails, because, well, the cab is the same width as the bed....or wider if the bed is a step side..

I should of said it diffrently. Your cab should always be shorter then the box for proper truck proportions.

Like these new crewcab 150s running around with goofy, useless, 5.5 ft beds.

My experience with the 6.0 is as follows:

E350 van, hear odd loud ping/clunk from under hood

Open hood. See oil dipstick is partially out.

Dipstick tube is puffing smoke.

Plug dipstick back in

Shoots back out.

Sound was it hitting hood.

Pushed back in. Left small gap.

Closed hood.

Returned van to owner.

What makes them useless? It's still a 5.5 foot bed that may be exactly what their owners need. It would certainly be enough for my purposes.

Does your ass get jealous of all the shit that comes out of your mouth?

The 5.5’ bed on a F150 is about the same usefulness as a Ranger 6’ bed. I could carry full sheets of plywood, my quad, the new water heater, the new water softener... you know, all the homeowner stuff I needed it to do.
If that’s the case... I owned a Ford with the 9’ flare side bed. All those 8’ bed owners are losers.

If you dont need more then a 5.5 ftbox youre better off buying a trailer and an expedition.

Real trucks, IMO, have 8ft boxes, 2 doors, and a 3 seat bench.

What would I do with a trailer? Or an Expedition to tow it? I just want a vehicle that does everything I need. A 5.5-6 foot bed does that without the need for towing a trailer around.

Admittedly I wish I could have a longer bed on the Ranger, but I need the back seat from time to time, so it's a trade of I'm willing to make.

On a ranger i might get by with a 6ft box, but id really have trouble stomaching anything less then an 8 on a fullsize. Just wouldnt feel right.

Sorry, I would rather have a truck more capable than a standard cab long box.

Obviously if you have a family of 4, one person is not allowed in your truck.
