is a 2wd 5r55e tranny the same as a 4wd 5r55e? I currently have a 2001 edge with the 4.0 2wd. I'm planning to convert it to 4wd with a sas. Now if the 2wd and the 4wd are identical except the tail housing, couldn't I go to the wrecking yard and source the tail housing from a 4r55e along with a manual t-case? will there be any differences or a direct bolt on? Sorry I can't do the leg work right now due to the fact I'm currently deployed to Iraq.
