I have Park,N,and reverse but no drive no 1 or 2 (automatic) I drove it to the auto parts store turn it off come back out and nothing just rev's up checked fluid looks good, change the fluid and filter like a 2 months ago.. could it be a valve body gasket? or is this transmission finally giving up on me?:bawling:, tomorrow i might just drop the pan and take a look at the valve body gasket just checking to see if this is worth my time.

I would check the gaskets first. If you changed the fluid, some old gunk might have lodged into a valve controlling the forward gears or blocked the EPC solenoid. The valve body has an internal t-stat that bypasses the cooling circuit until 150 degrees. This same circuit flows through the filter. (ready for the dumb part?) so until your fluid reaches 150 degrees it is not being filtered! Hopefully you did not glaze over your soft parts.

PS what fluid did you use? If you use anything other than Merc V you risk burning up your soft parts.

i used merc v what it sayed on the dip stick
