When performing a trans service a few weeks ago, I found the blown out separator plate gasket that is common with these trucks. So I ordered the new bonded separator plate and new blow off valve/retainer from Ford. Went to install it today and have ran into a few odd issues. First being that it looks like the updated plate has already been installed at one point in the past, since the #50 hole was deleted from the one I removed. I also found whoever put the updated plate on did not replace the blow off valve and retainer with the updated one from Ford. Also found the EPC Limit Screen, EPC Limit Valve, and spring were still installed on the valve body. So it looks like they just threw the plate on and put it back together. I had no transmission drivability issues either. So after installing the updated blow off valve and removing the EPC items, I went to double check the check-ball locations and other stuff before I put the plate on like the directions state, and I found a check ball missing. I know for a fact it did not fall out since I had someone watch as I pulled the plate off and keep the valves from sticking to the plate. Again, I have had no transmission drivability issues since I got the truck in 2018. Does anyone know if this is some sort of mod or was whoever installed the plate not careful and have it fall out? I will attach 2 pics for reference. The yellow circles are where the current balls are, which are in the correct position. The red circle is where the missing one should be according to the directions. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
