Short of the long is my 95 ranger (4.0ltr) has a transmission that could go any day. Currently it has a 4R55E in it and just recently i got the lead on a 5r55e out of a 97 explorer. I've gotten some mixed info on if this swap would work or not. I've heard that "yeah no problem" to "well it's doable if you have a donor vehicle for all the wiring and what not".
Am i opening a can of worms or is this something my bro and i can do, we're both pretty mechanically inclined and have quite a bit of know how. Thoughts on what i'm getting into?
