When swapping to a 5 speed do you have to change the computer? I have done numerous swaps on 87-97 fullsizes , you don't have to on these. Yes, I have searched an can not find a yes or no answer.

Not necessarily but it will basically act funny when the computer expects the automatic to shift. Not sure exactly what people mean by that one. I say do it without the ECU and see how it goes. Might not bother you. Don't forget to patch up whatever wires it takes for the neutral switch.

The computer for the auto handles rpm levels a little different then the manual, one just has a little less @ certain times.

I've ran auto 4.0 Ecms in my b2 with a 5 speed
I just cross the pink and red/blue stripe wires coming from the auto trans plug, this tricks the comp into thinking its in N. Or park to start it.

It will pop a cel saying it's not getting a good reading from trans solinoids
