5 speed swap on 93.

friend tosted his auto, I have a 5speed. Do you have to mess with the wireing any? Or is it jus swap and go(I know pedles clutch master cyclinder and all that. I have ever thign but the line(What is it called?) is it jus clutch line? And Im think its prolly a dealer part?

well you could make the truck think its in park, but yes there is wiring to it.

Oh, okey what all is involved in this? I have a 98 5speed truck to rip what ever we need out of it But dont want to do a LOAD of wireing...

Any one, I can trade my s10 for this truck and cash...Been lookin to get something eles any how and would love this little 2wd driver. I kno the truck very well and would love to own it. So what does it take to swap a 3.0 to a 5spd. the truck is a 93, and I got a trans from a 98 that is a 5speed. so id come out in the end on the good. A real nice little ranger and some cash for nothing but my time to fix the ranger.

A 98 trans won't have the speedometer port in the tail housing.

aint worried bout speed-o. I could go after market on that. As long as I can get it runin/drive good with the parts I have is all im worried about.

You need to worry about the speedo. It's not just the cluster speedo, it's also the sensor for the engine. Running without it is going to cause problems like stalling.

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) supplies this signal to the components that require vehicle speed information including the speed control amplifier for cruise control equipped vehicles and computer. The computer uses the VSS signal for emissions control programs and speed limiters. The emissions programming can cause a manual transmission vehicle to stall out while decelerating if no VSS is used.

Did not want to hear that. Looks like im still stuck drive my s10, any way to by pass that or anything? Really would love this truck but dont want to have to buy a trans for it. Any way to convert any of this or am i sol?
