5 speed swap into 83 ranger 2.3L 4 speed

I would like to swap a 5 speed for my 4 speed that I have now. Any info on what trans is easiest and what would be most desirable. And would like to do a 5.0 swap in the future is there a 5 speed that would be able to work with that?

what you will need is a toyo koygo 5 speed transmission code 5 or a mitsubishi 5speed transmission code D , both will be in 1983-1987 rangers ,or if you don't want to use it with a v8 swap then you can use a mazda m50d transmission you will find theses in 1988-1997 and newer rangers but no one makes a v8 swap adapter for the the mazdas transmissions , theres more info in the tech library about v8 swaps
