Obviously first, make sure there's nothing inside the port or anything like that, but assuming it's all good, crack the bleeder to let the pressure out as you ush the fittings together
Sorry for the delayed reply. It just lets the pressure out of the slave so the fluid pressure isn't keeping the quick connect from moving. If that's not doing it for you, you could have something else going on. Hopefully you've got it figured out by now though. How does that work? I cracked the bleeder and everything, but it still won’t work together

I don't recall exactly why but the last one I did on my 93 would up pulling it all completely out (even the lines through the frame and fender), assembling it all hanging from an 8 ft ladder and bleeding it there, then installing it all in one piece.
Also I'm not sure why but I still had to put that thing into the slave cylinder from underneath and although it was a total pain it did go together and work even till now, but now there's another leak
What style connector does it have, can you take pics of what's going on? If i remember, there was a gold connector with at least 2 different style clips (the plastic collar type, and the metal hair-pin type) and there was also a black connector, not sure how those were set up.Never did lol
Moved on to getting it running right. Doesn’t need to drive before it can run for longer than 10 seconds
I had to correct a word in that Rust, "wound"Strange. I’m not good with the transmissions in these trucks, but I know the engines quite well.
