5 out of top 10 clunkers are Fords.

yeah and getting fugly cheap a$$ corollas
those peoples purchased an explorer for the looks,a nd mostly the suv trend, not cuz they're loyal to the brand

Besides that there is no proof as to how beat and abused some of them are could be a bunch with 200K+ as far as we know.

some crackheads just turn the good running exps just for the thrill of gettin a new ride, like i said trhey got em in first place to follow the trend, they got v8 just to mock at the neighbors v6, now they go pussy smaller than 2liter engine corolla.
if its smaller than 2 liter it aint worthy:icon_twisted:

I got mine repoed as opposed to doing the C4C thing. I wasnt gonna clunk my expe and mustang for that crap. It just aint right. By the way I need a 200 good running truck. Should be plenty now that c4C is over.

Fords are the only cars that get ran into the dirt and traded in at 200k miles+?

There people we're buying inefficient SUV's from other manufacturers during the SUV boom. Not just fords. The Ford trucks still beat out the other "SUV boom" trucks from other manufacturers.

the explorer was the best selling vehicle for those years so of course there will be a more of them traded in.

Those explorers sold quite well. But calling the Corolla crap is misguided at best. They will go 200k easily with maintenance and IIRC have been the best selling car in the world for a long time.

I saw a nice red 2003 or 2004 explorer in the clunker lot.

People have no sense. Could have sold it for twice that much.

Oh well... Everyday there is an idiot born!

corollas=crap for me
had a toyota before my ranger, that pos had a curse or something had to rebuild the engine 4 times, always kept blowing the piston rings and head gasket
so in my experinece i preffer a thirsty ford over yota

Whoever rebuilt your engine should have been construction worker. Or perhaps a chef. Anything but an engine builder.

Actually $4500 is about exactly what you'd expect to trade a 2003 explorer in for. You might get $1k more if you went private party but people often take a hit on trade ins over private party sales.

They could have just traded it in and got about the same instead of 'clunkering' it but most people dont care. Money is money to them.

what i say is that from MY exp im not getting a toyota again, the work was done by corporacion flores, the toyota athorized dealer in honduras, all the parts where toyota original, maybe the block or the heads had some damage that the machine shop couldn notice:dunno:
