I'm wondering if anyone knows if a 5.0 litre mustang engine along with the drive-train complete to the rear end will bolt into a 97 Mazda B2300. If so, what years would the mustang have to be? Has anyone done it?
I'm looking to make a ridiculous sleeper.

It's not a direct bolt in. See the V8 conversion forum and also 5.0L conversion article in the technical library for more information on how to go about doing the swap.

Thank You

I need any information I can find to help start this project.

See you are new here so Welcome! There is a very good tech library up top that covers just about everything you will need to know. Spend some time getting used to the site, it's great once you learn your way around. That swap has been done so many times.

My writeup is not submitted yet, but you need a 96-97 explorer motor with ECU and engine harness, dual sump oil pan and pickup tube, a couple of choices of motor mounts, and the explorer trans...

You can click on my link below for my build thread....Either way you go(Mustang 5.0 or Expo 5.0) its not gonna be a bolt in easy swap. It will take some fab work, Mechanical skill, Wiring and Patience.

Thanks for the help. I was going to try and do it over a weekend. My goal was to use a 5.0 litre High Output Mustang engine with the Mustang tranny and bolt an Explorer rear end into the truck and make new brackets so the leaves mount under to sit the truck lower and then adjust the front end accordingly.
I know I'll be in for some surprises and was hoping that they could be limited by researching.
