Does anybody know if its possible to fit a 5.9L cummins into a 94 ford ranger... im also considering a 3.9L Cummins... If anybody knows of any other diesel engines out there that will fit please let me know, this is something im very interested in:)

the 5.9 is an all around massive engine for a ranger, it weighs around 1000lbs. Look around the forums, theres been a few talks about a truck with a 3.9 cummins in it.

the 3.9 is certainly not out of the question, look around 4btswaps.com or check out ebay, mooktanks truck is for sale right now...

ebay
3.9 explorer

shit man, with 7 grand youre more than 3/4 of the way there...

the tranny in our company parts runner just went out recently ('96 3500 5.9l) and the motor has 285,xxx miles but still runs damn good, im really tempted to hack apart and do some serious reinforcement to my '90 ranger and swap it in. so ill keep you posted if i get brave enough to attempt it.

massive surgery to the firewall for a 5.9 cummins also crossmember trimming for a 3.9 it has been done with the 5.9 here are pics of outlaw diesel Miami's ranger with a 6 bt in it.

3.9 is probably my best bet, that 6bt looks like it required a heck of a lot of work, and probably more money than i have lol... thanks for all the help!

there is a guy on 4btswaps.com with a 93 i think with the 4bt in it.

go to youtube, & look for cummins ranger. You'll drool for a week!!! It's a 98!

ive seen a pic of a ranger with a i6 diesel engine before, i think the guy lengthened the fenders, core support, frame and hoods instead of chopping up the firewall

Any more info on this subject. Anything new

as in what?

i6 or any diesel.

many types of setups out there...pick one and get it done.
