$ 5.00--5.50 gallon

i just don't look at the gas pump when i pump gas anymore..lol. makes me feel a little better.

i have a friend that got in trouble for drinking while pumping gas-- the cop just laughed when he explained his reason of turning up JD while pumping gas. the cop just told him to stop drinking like that..

you guys are weinnes.. gas went up again yesterday, try paying $7.40 a gallon

its 1.40 a litre, and 1 US gallon has 3.78 litres, so 1.40x3.78 is 7.40. this method is correct right?

Looks like the 4.0L Ranger and the 5.0L Bronco will be parked and a new 4cyl 5speed POS will be my new dd. The sad part is, I am totally okay with that.

They actually mention the $6/gal on tonights national news. Lot of it has to do with both China and India increasing their consumton 10-15% per year. Even if 800 million of them are driving cars that get 50 mpg, that's one huge market.

1.40x3.78=5.29.

here it's 1.59,so that x 3.78=6.01/us gallon.

but since the canadian dollar is at 1.05us,that's $6.31us/gallon.no wonder tourism has dropped off.

Yeah, more of it has to do with our inability to DRILL OUR OWN OIL and satisfy our own demand.

But daddy Zero's on the job now - he's looking into those bad ol' speculators who are driving up prices...

Where's the jerk-off smilie when you need one...

This was just on the local news, really kind of sad.

"Son charged in parents' killings in Mequon
Posted: Apr 21, 2011 8:24 PM CDT
A complaint says an argument over $5 in gas money may have led a 20-year-old man to allegedly kill his parents in a Milwaukee suburb.

Dennis Markov was charged Thursday with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the shooting deaths of his parents, 45-year-old Victor and 39-year-old Larissa Markov.

Police found their bodies Tuesday in the garage of their Mequon (MEH'-kwan) home and arrested the son.

According to the complaint, Dennis Markov told police he had asked his father for $5 in gas money. When his father refused, the two got into an argument. The son then allegedly got a rifle and shot his father.

When his mother returned from errands, Markov allegedly shot her.

Read that at lunch. Expect more of it, but between strangers.

ha...

i spent more on gas for the boat this morning than most of you burn in a week.
i'm going out again tomorrow.quit yer whining, that's just life in the modern age.blaming your president, the arabs or martians for it won't cut it.
collectively, the united states has burned about 80% of the gas ever produced since day one.prices have always been way lower than the world average.now that it's going up a bit(but still way lower than the world average)everyone gets their panties in a knot.

suck it up.drive less.eat less.quit whining.it's not the end of the world.

unless it is:icon_confused:but what can ya do:icon_cheers:

^^ perfectly said Gwaii! I live in NY state, gas is close to $4, and I still rock my 4.0 daily because gas is just a necessity. So inconvenient to use public transport where I live, and the Explorer can't go, so oh well. Less dinners out, more time at home, and most importantly more time on TRS!

As promised:

It is getting hard to keep track of all of the disgraceful things Barack Obama is doing, but we shouldn't overlook his effort to blame high energy prices on "speculators." In fact, the high price of petroleum, which in turn raises the cost of everything else, is due to a combination of market forces and the Obama administration's terrible energy policies. When you have an administration that openly wishes for higher energy costs, it shouldn't be a surprise when prices go up.
But Obama doesn't want to take the blame for the consequences of his policies, so he follows his usual Alinskyite policy--fabricate a villain and demonize him. Here, the villain is a group of nameless "speculators" who supposedly are driving up the price of oil. Obama has now gotten the Department of Justice and other agencies into the act. The Streetwise Professor explains:
It is becoming clear that Obama's criticism of speculators was not a one-off. Instead, it is part of a broader campaign to demonize them. Today's installment of the Two Minutes' Hate came courtesy of the Justice Department (so tempted to use quotes around that). Eric Holder announced the formation of an Oil and Gas Price Fraud Working Group consisting of Department of Justice, the National Association of Attorneys General, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of the Treasury, the Federal Reserve Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as the Departments of Agriculture and Energy. The Group's charge is:
The Oil and Gas Price Fraud Working Group will explore whether there is any evidence of manipulation of oil and gas prices, collusion, fraud, or misrepresentations at the retail or wholesale levels that violates state or federal laws and harms consumers or the federal government as a purchaser of oil and gas. The Working Group will also evaluate developments in commodities markets and examine investor practices, supply and demand factors and the role of speculators and index traders in oil futures markets.

:agree:

THANK you.

I've heard a co-worker complain because she was getting 11 mpg in her Expedition. They have ONE kid and used it to commute, they never go off-road or tow anything. Sympathy = zero. They got rid of it, finally. They downgraded to a small car and a small SUV and surprise, they don't complain any more.

My Dad commuted 40+ miles every day in a Jeep CJ7 that got... well, I THINK it got gas mileage but it was probably more like gas footage. He never bitched once about the price of gas though, because it was the vehicle he wanted AND he didn't buy it with blinders on.

Will it suck to pay $5 per gallon? Sure. I tend to drive about 250-300 miles per week, and a full tank if I'm completely empty would be around $80. A full tank in my Ranger tends to last 440-450 miles. Meh, guess I'll just have to ease back on the number of cigars I smoke. I think I'll live. In fact, I'll probably live longer!

As an aside to anyone who actually thinks that more drilling will lower the price of fuel... c'mon, son. While you're dreaming, why don't you also wish for a million dollars and a pony? All that would happen is their profits would go up while they make every excuse on Earth why prices are still sky high. Trust me, profit at any and all costs to us is their ONLY m.o.; they DO NOT have our best interests in mind.

gas was 3.89 last monday it has come down to 3.77 today good thing i inherited my son 98 forester that he got when my mom passed 3 yrs ago my 94 gets about 12 to 14 miles a gal the sub gets about 25 mpg
