Need an article on swapping out a 2.5 and putting in a 5.0 I have a donor vehicle. Both two wheel drive

I have a 1999 ranger with 2.5 it's automatic and two wheel drive short bed.the donor would be a 98 two wheel drive explore automatic with the 5.0 140k miles on it

Are you committed to that Explorer? It will definitely work but you'll have to deal with a couple of things that would be easier with a 99-01.

Ty much for the link I been here before but lost my info in another device to login. Been looking for a donor i thing I found one a 1998 explorer two wheel drive aren't popular so it took a while locally now I need to purchase all parts needed for the salvage yard I have a 1999 two wheel drive short bed automatic so off hand I asked for motor,tranny,computer,v8 harness and y pipe

Ask them what they want for the entire vehicle. You'll need components for PATS, the fuel rail and return, etc. and it will be much easier to have them side by side.

Update found a rolled 1999 explorer 5.0 and it's two wheel drive in a salvage yard. I can get engine,tranny,computer,wiring harnesse,andyranny crossmember for 1400

I am getting factory wiring harness from donor vehicle same year as my ranger along with the computer. I assume that part would be plug in no modification if I read correctly?

Update I found 2 wheel 1999 explore 5.0 to swap into my 1999 ford ranger replacing my 2.5 with the piston slap. I got the motor,wiring harness,computer,and tranny also got cross member for tranny.the motor has all accessories on it ... should be a plug and go install hopefully...thoughts
