Im working on my 96 ranger which I am in the process of getting everything I need for the v-8 conversion the motor is almost ready for the assembly to begin just trying to figure out what style heads I want on it, the 9inch rear is in the garage waiting for me to decide what gears I want to run....so here is the question I want to run a manual trans but Im not sure if I should go with the T-5 or something different Im not looking to put out a huge amount of power just mild performance I know the 9in rear is a lil over kill but I like them just cause...but I dont know what tranny will fit under the truck the best so any info would be great and any additional info on the whole v-8 swap would be great to so I have a idea of what Im getting into before I dig in.
Thanks a lot,

I'm presuming you're doing a 2wd truck, since you didn't mention anything about a transfer case or front axle.

Now I'm not 100% certain, as I went with an automatic, but I believe the T5 is the simplest route. They came in 5.0 Mustangs, so they can handle a decent amount of power, and presumably are faily small. Also, there is quite a few of them out there, so finding one shouldn't be too difficult.
