currently have a 1997 ranger 2.3 5 speed 2wd truck im looking to put a 5.0 in.
ranger does not have power steering or ac so this should simplify my swap. No PATS on ranger.
I bought a running 1998 explorer 5.0 awd. With pats
i also have a good t5 setup out of a mustang.
My major questions
When the 5.0 goes in the ranger it will not have power steering or a/c, also deleting the heater core. Now since my ranger does not have PATS i understand there will be some work needed to overcome this. Where can i get a tune made for the explorer ecu to delete the auto tranny files and disable the pats to get me up and running.
What wiring changes need to be made so that the tach on the cluster works when i install it into the ranger?
Also. im assuming that when i use the tranny, flywheel and clutch setup out of a mustang that i will need to use a mustang starter? correct me if i am wrong
Thanks
