Hey guys! I'm just farting around with the Idea of a EFI 302 5.0 in my 88' Ranger. What would I have to do exactly and what would it cost roughly?

My idea is to have a complete Engine and 5-speed trans, ECM, Disc brake rear end from a 86'-93' Mustang.

What works and how 'easy' is it? It'd be a learning curve but I'm eager to learn and do it the right way.

Skip on the rear end from the mustang. Get yourself an explorer rear end instead.

Explorer rears have disk brakes, usually are L/S, and are a 31 spline 8.8 axle. Not to mention an easier swap from the mustang rear.

Simplest is a Ranger 8.8, and swap on '94-'04 Mustang discs. Earlier Mustangs had drums.

Read some build threads, and see which direction is best for you.
