5.0 exhaust issue

ok i go on here alot to see what other people do and i dont think anyone has done what im doing, got a 89 4x4 ranger that im putting a 302 in, i stupidly bought the 2wd kit from jegs and some how made it all fit, except for the headers, the drivers side fits fine no issues, now the passenger side is different. i cant bolt it on due to the bottom of the header hitting the cross member, now would it be better to cut out the cross member to fit the header or just buy new ones, or heat the header up to bend it the inch i need to clear the cross member, anyone having any knowelege with something like this let me know.

I would modify the header. Slice and re-weld as necessary.

DONT CUT THE CROSSMEMBER. We did that to an S10 we were working on once, and it broke the first time we took it offroad and flexed the truck a little

How far forward is your engine? What is the model # and mfr of your headers? Hedman 89500s?

ok cutting into cross member is bad got ya, now i got the 2wd headers for a 4wd and had to use a 2x4 metal block to utilize this kit the only thing that aint workin now is the passenger side header, you think it would be wise you heat and bend the header

What Teddyz said.
Slice into the header at the collector,not all the way in to and bend it back against the cut to reweld it.
Then you will have an offset to turn the flange back some.
