ok so my truck been acting funny like its starving for fuel or somthing, the problem is when i drive the truck mainly past half throttle the engine starts falling on its face sputtering and poping, but it idles fine... well that was yesterday so today it starting sputtering and any throttle range and eventually falls on its face to wear it wont move under its own power idles fine still.. i can turn it off for a min and then it can drive again for a couple of seconds, so far i replaced the fpr and now it sits around 32psi at idle, check vaccum leaks none, timming is good, now i was wondering could possabliy a bar\map sensor do this?:icon_confused:

i would check the map sensor and maf sensor if you have one. i would also check fuel pressure well above idle. if its below the specs then you may be looking at a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. the injectors may also be faulty so unplug the and check the resistance. oem resistance is 14.5 ohms and anything 5% out of spec is considered junk as far as electronics are concerned.

Did you pull the codes yet maybe that will point you. Disconnect the battery for 1/2 an hour and run it for 20 mins then run the codes.

my truck does have a maf sensor i havnt check it yet.. fuel pressure stays the same at idle and above idle.. i replaced the fuel pressure regulator already. i check for codes only got a memory code somthing about the ac being on and the thermoactor air valve, i disconected the batter for a long time just to see if it would reset anything, it seams like a fuel problem cause when it starts sputtering i can back off the throttle and let it idle for a min then i can drive it again for about 10 sec before it sputters again... also if i dissconect the barometric pressure sensor it does nothing runs the same, thanks agian for all ur input i need to fix my truck i hate not having a truck!~

ok so pretty sure i fixed it.. the remember the tank was dirty when i built the truck i cleaned it best i vould but i dont think i was enough.. main filter was about 90 percent clogged changed it and it ran fine for a little bit so i pulled the bed and check the intank pump. sock was clogged so new filters on pumps she runing good now... but now a new problem oil pressure is droping fast! and i have a mechanical gauge all autometer, i pullled the plastic line out of the back of the gauge and started the truck amost no oil came out reved it up and a couple of drops no kincks in the line either... does this sound like a oil pump? engine no noise or anythign:icon_confused:

could very well be the oil pump but it may also be that something has plugged up the oil port that your gauge is fed by. just my $0.02 though.
