i am wondering how the 4x4 works are all 4 tires suppose to turn and the same time or what? i ask be causewhen i get stuck in the snow now all tires will spin all the time

It depends on the vehicle. Stock trucks usually have open differentials which means the tire with the least traction will spin both on the front and rear axle.

If your on a patch of ice and your left front and right rear are on blacktop and the right front and left rear is on ice the two tires on ice will spin and could possibly leave you stranded. If you have all 4 tires spinning all the time, you either have a limited slip differential or locker in both the front and rear axle, which is highly unlikely unless someone put them in, or the other option is that all 4 tires have about the same amount of traction and therefore spin together.

Check this out.
