4x4 wont work

i have a 1989 bronco 2 and my 4x4 wont work i push the button and the light dont come on the the 4x4 dont engage i checked andd the canectors and everything is in place i just cant figer it out
 
Hello,
Check the fuse for 4 wheel drive. Should be in the power distribution box on the right side of the engine compartment. If that is good then most likely the engaement motor mounted to the back of the transfer case. Good luck!
 
if the moter was bad wouldnt the light still come on
 
I changed out the overhead unit on mine and it works now. Can you hear any clicking when you push the button

The 4x4 telltales are light up by a set of physical contacts inside the t-case. If the transfer case isn't shifting into a 4x4 position the lights won't light up.
