4x4 trans

i have a 4x4 trans going bad all i seem to fined it 2 wheel trans how hard is it to convert

You have to tear it down and replace the output shaft with a 4x4 shaft. The 4x4's output shaft is longer, a 2wd shaft won't engage the transfer case.

thanks ill just use the tall shaft out of my trans and put into a 2 wheel trans one more ? . is it hard to take it apart and put back together.

What transmission are we talking about?

Also, if you have to ask that question then my answer has to automatically be "DON'T TRY IT".

Besides, if you're gonna change the tranny, drop the weak auto and find an M5OD manual.

well that what i plan on doing later i have a 2000 ranger im trying to get a title on then im going to do a body, motor ,trans swap.it a 2wd than i can have every thing i need it got the m5r1 ill change the shalf in it and hook it up 2 the transfer case on the 89 will the ele 4 wheel drive wire plug in to a 2000 wiring harness
