4X4 swap

im putting a 4x4 in my 87 mazda b2000 i want a 2.9 and a traight axle but i know that wont happen now so for now i just need a mazda axle and tranny, ive never done a 4x4 swap before just wanted to throw this out and ask if there was anything i need to know before i start. and i recently made a snorkel and want to know how to attach it to my motor its got a carb and the tubing coming of the carb is nowhere near round, some sort of an adapter i can mabye buy or anything? i also dont know what the three tubes going into the carb does or i would just seal it up to the carb and eliminate that big circle crap that seems to always be in the way anytime i work on the engine.

first thing id ask is it worth to convert the 2wd truck into a 4wd truck? if it's sentimental then sure, if not then i would seriously consider selling your truck and buying a 4wd. for 4wd you need a new axle, transmission, beef up the suspension and lift it. we're talking lots of $ before it's over. I'd seriously think about it before you decide to convert it. just my .02

longer steering column, longer brakes lines, extending the shift knob etc. converting isn't the best way of getting a 4wd. again just my ,.02

I agree with the above posts, its far cheaper, and easier to just buy a 4WD in the first place. The headache and the constant empty pocket book isn't worth it by far. Plus regardless of what you do it will probably always have little flaws due to it originally being a 2WD model to begin with.
