Hi,
are there any benefits to the 4x4 shocks on the 2wd suspension, does it add any bit of a lift, i know the 4x4 are longer than the 2wd, yes i have searched but could not find a straight up answer..
thank you

I don't see the point. Shocks don't lift anything. That's not what they do. Your springs (or air-bags) do all the lifting. The shocks only slow down the bouncing so that it stops much sooner. The extra travel of 4x4 shocks isn't any benefit if it never flexes that far. (My $0.02)

thanks man i thought so but i figured I'd ask first truck so not too familiar, but thanks again for clearing up the confusion have a nice day

If they are longer, and you fit them to a 2wd, the shocks may reach the end of their travel upon compression, before the suspension bump stops do.

In which case, you may punch a shock mount through, or other damage.

Not exactly certain, as I have not compared the relative lengths between them.
