4x4 PROBLEM

while in 4x4H/L in my 07 4.0 v6 ranger it will cut out of 4x4 into 2wd and back to 4x4 several times whats going on??
there is a loud clunk coming from around under driver seat when it switches

the clunk is the transfer case trying to shift. are you moving when you shift it or sittin still

i tried both while moving/stoped in neutral and in park still happens

sounds like you are having the same problem as mountainmike. your shift motor might be going out and the computer might not know where it is in the t-case. other than that snippet(yes i said snippet) i dunno
