4x4 No workie

4x4 Now workie but theres a clunk/ click

i have a 89 ext ca b 4x4 elect transfer case and less than a year ago replaced the motor. well i got under it taped the motor with a dead blow and kick on, but now have new problem. every couple rotations theres a clunk/click. ive have solid axles with bad front u joints and it made the noise all the time. and with this its only in 4x4. would that be bad front drive shaft u joints or could it be auto hubs? need help quick bc if its u joints im going to go buy them asap. please help thanks will

Could be the switch too. That would be the most likely culprit in my mind since if it never sees the switch change it never sees a problem.

^ this is true even the least important systems need to be used every once in a while to stay working the way they are designed.
