hey there, this is my forst post on this site, but have been a long time reader!
I recently picked up a 93 4x4 v6 5speed ranger, first 4x4 ranger i have ever owned. ( i have had two 2wds previous.)
Im having problems with the 4x4 engaging.
I went through the 1994 & older electric shift diagnostics, and came away mostly perfect. the modual flashes, the switchs are all good (including the clutch switch) and the modual is seeing twelve volts. the only thing i saw was that I am getting a bad signal from the gear shift position sensor in the transfercase. would this stop the electric shift completly? when i push the button, no lights flash, i hear no clicking, nothing. its like i never touched the button.

anybody have any ideas on this?
i tested the lights also, they all work fine.
