I got a 2003 2wd ranger single cab with a Toyota straight axle conversion I was wondering if I could just get the transfer case and if so what vehicle would I need to get it off of or do I need to swap the tranny? Thanks

You also have a post above, Bro?

Never seen a yota axle under a ranger before, there maybe one out there but not that I have seen. Might be able to split apart your t-case and just swap out the output shaft. But I think yota axles are like chevy's the diff is on the passenger side? I may be wrong, not my neck of the wood with yotas.

I just finished my axle swap so best of luck to you with yours.

You're right yota axles are on the passenger side. So either scrap the yota axle and get a jeep Dana 30 or ford Dana 44, or try and find a way to make the tcase work with a diff on the wrong side.

I have heard of a custom, upside down BW1350(I think it was?) that was passenger drop, to go with Chevy fullsize axles (again, I think? lol was like 3 years ago I heard about it around here...)

But realistically, a yota axle is not very useful under a ranger without a huge investment.

How about a divoced tcase from an old gm truck. You would not have to change your trans

That's what I was gettin at. I mean if you have the money then more power to ya but personally I would just put a different solid axle in.
