I do but they just got painted and put on lol. Not getting rid of them till this thing gets SAS'ed. Should be going to get the Tires for this thing today!

jus curious and for future refrences, will the stock front end and rear end hold up to the power the 302 is gonna put out? or are you going to swap them also? just curious bc i thought about a swap in my 98.

Do a search in the V8 section. Your truck is a 98 so it doesnt have the TTB or TIB up front. As little as i use 4x4 mine will be fine and the rear has already been upgraded to a 31spline 8.8 which should be fine as well. I'll find out in time:D

Skyjacker 132sx leveling coils. So ~2"

Finally got around to picking these up..

Well I've been slackin' badly lately. No real progress really worth mentioning. Front lift brackets are all painted and on as well as the bracket for the superrunner steering. Pulled a set of Chevy leaves friday, need to get them cleaned up and grab some shackles and mount them up. Wheels have been ordered but are on backorder until about the middle of next month.

Also determined that L&L Headers will work with my bellhousing and slave setup. Should clear everything else but wont know till motor goes back in.

What do i need as far as a balancer for the 5.0? the block is a 1984-86 so assuming 50oz ? stock replacement or aftermarket? Im clueless. any advice is appreciated.

And a few pics as always:

And ignore the backwards bracket in the pic, i just slapped it on w/o paying attention

Well not too much progress other than collecting parts.
Did get the Gas tank dropped though. Cleaned up the frame and straps, neither were rusted so they got scuffed and a couple coats of black. Removed all that remained of the stock fuel lines. Hooked up the new 1/4" line to the RETURN side of the stock pump/sender. Blocked off the FEED side. Cut the nipple off the "flapper valve" on the return side, put a piece of mesh over the inlet and clamped it on with the stock clamp and what remained of the rubber flapper. Went to reinstall the tank when i happend to see the bottom of my Filler neck was cracked :annoyed:
So progress stopped there for the night. Need to get some pop-rivets and replace some that rusted/broke from the skid plate and shield. Also need to decide what to do with the filler neck?? The cracks dont appear to be really deep but i dont want to get it all back together and realize it has a leak. So maybe i can find a cheap replacement or ill just fab something up with some radiator hose or something :icon_confused:

Hopefully this will keep any trash in the tank in the tank. Makes me feel safer either way

Check Ebay for the filler tube.. I got mine for less than 40 bucks... looking good with the progress so far!

Thanx:icon_thumby: And I'll Hop on that! If i cant find one for a long bed ill make my own tomorrow because i need to get the tank back in place.

Also Scored an MSD billet distributor today for $150.:yahoo: Came with the dist, rotor, cap, and chrome hold down and arp stud. Is in flawless condition, it made less than a dozen passes down the track before the stang it was on was stripped down. Not too bad IMO for the $269 the guy originally paid for just the dist.

OH CRAP. this is a TFI dizzy. Any way i can get it to work with a carb setup? like maybe lock the timing and using a timing control/computer from msd?

Ok heres a rundown of what ive gotten knocked out:
-Have the correct MSD distributor now:yahoo:
-Got a NEW SFI approved and RPM tested chromed 50oz Balancer for the price of a stock replacement
-Scored a used Holley Red fuel pump and fuel cell in exchange for the old carb off of the donor truck. Ill use the pump but the cell is too small for what i want
-New Flywheel
-Front TTB beams have been cleaned up with new bushings installed
-TTB beams are back under the truck in the 6" holes
-The machine shop has been swamped thanks to bogging trucks and dirt track cars, but FINALLY my Motor has been machined and bored out(remember i said a few MONTHS ago it was being "finished"...BS). Guy machined the block .060:icon_surprised: Im a little worried about it but he swears up and down it'll be fine :dunno: He says he should have the lower end together this week if all goes well. So mayb i can actually get to doing the motor swap :icon_twisted:
-oh and got a call from the local wheel distributor, My wheels should be in within the week after being on backorder
-also wheel adapters/1.5" spacers ordered

Left to do:
-decide where to mount Radius Arm mounts and knock that out
-Chevy spring swap, new bushings, and shackles
-measure for shocks-bilsteins
-Install and modify the supperrunner steering to accomidate the amount of lift im running and get new TREs
-Drop motor in
-Wire and plumb hoses for motor
-notch and box frame around radiator to accomidate for frame flex
-Exhaust
-Driveshafts and new u-joints

BRAND NEW Powermaster 130a chromed 3G alternator I snagged for less than the cost of a stock replacement! gotta love craigslist. Need to swap on my march pulley and get a turnbuckle style bracket for it.

Chris, do you still have the pump/resevior from the hydro setup?? If you have pics of it, can you put them up, I might need em for my setup....what are you thinking for a cooling fan setup?? I'm already into doing more R & D on what I can do....its looking like I will have to go with dual electric fans...
