quick question... would it be possible to bolt a transmission with a transfer case to a 2002 2.3L engine? Thinking of putting a straight axle in the front end and was wondering if there was a transmission that would bolt up to my engine.

I can't answer fully, but you can convert your existing tranny to a 4wd by replacing the mainshaft and the tailhousing. Then you can bolt on any RBV tcase to that. I do not know if the bellhousings are different between the 2.3 d-tec and the 2.3 Lima.


I've got an '01+ 4x4 tailhousing if you're interested. You're kinda stuck on having a 01+ tailhousing because of the VSS/OSS. whichever one it is....speed sensor. lol.
