i was wondering if the 4wd system was different then the 93 i had with the locking hubs because i've noticed the 93 seemed a lot better. Sometimes i don't even know if my 4wd is working in the 98 anyway to test this out. The lights come on and it makes the click noise.

The PVH system is not the greatest; ifs its not working, the hubs are probably the cause.

You could test to see if the wheels are locked in a couple of ways. One, try doing 4 wheel burnouts on gravel, dirt, snow, etc. Another method is to jack the truck up so all four wheels are off the ground a little ways and see if all of the wheels turn.

If it is the hubs, there are a few different things you can do, fix, repair, mod, or replace.

i found out they are working fine i diddnt realize they were that slip differential deal
